FAWN TRAIL

A young family in Bethesda needed our help in just about every room of their new home. We started on the first floor, with priorities in the foyer, study and dining room.

This home office was a very special project. We transformed a bland and dreary room, completely void of color, into an inviting old-world, English-inspired study. Our expert painters used a custom high-gloss paint on the bookshelves and ceiling, added new hardware and mixed in vintage pieces and artwork with their beloved books and accessories to create a completely curated look.

We carefully selected the rosewood desk, side table, hide rug and wing chair, along with the antique footstool to give the room the feeling that all the pieces were collected over time. The draperies feature an English countryside landscape and the pièce de resistance is her artwork with we helped commission for the space.

Our goal with the dining room was to create a sophisticated, lively room using our client’s existing dining table, her raspberry cushioned side chairs and several chinoiserie accents. We selected a new chandelier with a gilt finish and beautiful flower-shaped crystals, which gave the dining room the subtle feeling of fanciness it needed.

The wallpaper was thoughtfully selected to compliment the homeowners love for chartreuse, and we were thrilled that she was willing to add this eclectic color on her walls. The “twiggy” pattern also worked with the landscape design in the fabric on the host chairs, which we had custom made with an Asian landscape with raspberry pagodas to tie into the colors in her side chairs.

The pretty blue tape trim on the window treatments gives a subtle pop of color, without overwhelming the off-white panels and pulled in her collection of blue and white ginger jars, scattered throughout the room. Everything was unified…with each piece contributing to the story of this Asian inspired, bright and beautiful space.
